As much of Mississippi experienced heavy rainfall this week, one city set a new record.
The National Weather Service confirmed that Greenwood experienced a new record rainfall of 1.00 inches on Thursday, surpassing the previous high of 0.90 inches on the same date in 1950.
Showers remain on the forecast (please hyperlink Kell-Bells’ weather piece here) throughout Mississippi on Friday, possibly putting some high school football games in peril as the regular season kicks off statewide.
