SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Labor day weekend is the last holiday weekend of the summer. Some road and air travelers have already started their final trips of the season and others are gearing up to leave Friday.
Whether they’ve boked flights or planned a road trip, AAA says many travelers are staying closer to home this Labor Day weekend.
The top domestic destinations include cities like Seattle, Orlando, New York City and Atlanta.
Compared to last year, domestic roundtrip flights are 6% cheaper, and AAA booking data shows hotel rates and car rental costs are lower as well.
Gas prices for road trippers are looking good too. They’re expected to stay lower than last year’s national average of $3.33 per gallon.
