Jose Mourinho has been sacked by Turkish side Fenerbahce amid being linked with Nottingham Forest.

Last week it was claimed the former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur boss was a candidate for the City Ground job, should Nuno Espirito Santo depart. The report came after Nuno had cast doubt on his own future with the Reds.

Mourinho has now been axed by Fenerbahce. His departure comes two days after they failed to qualify for the Champions League league phase, being beaten by Benfica in the play-off round.
