We say farewell to August and kick off September 's new lineup of local events this week, which will feature some interesting live music offerings. For instance, we have not one but two concerts featuring regional Mexican music stars taking place Saturday at area fairground arenas: Robarts Arena in Sarasota Fairgrounds and Mosaic Arena at Manatee County Fairgrounds in Palmetto.

Also taking place in Palmetto on Saturday will be a music festival at motorsports facility T4 KartPlex featuring Florida musicians. Rounding out the lineup will be a Sarasota native playing a hometown show at Big Top Live, and musicians from Tampa, Atlanta and Sarasota playing Oscura in Bradenton. Here are this week's highlights.
