Waimea Middle Public Conversion Charter School recently received two new 80-passenger buses made possible by a large donation from local philanthropists Marc and Lynne Benioff.

A donation of nearly $500,000 from the Benioffs to purchase and ship the buses from California adds to the over $250 million in philanthropic causes the couple has supported on Hawaii Island and across the state, including nearly $10 million to support teachers with classroom resources, health care tools and enriched learning experiences through the nonprofit Donors Choose, according to a press release.
