DARLINGTON, S.C. (WBTW) -- The Darlington Raceway held a hauler showcase and parade through the city to kick off festivities for race weekend.

On Thursday, the community was revving up and getting ready for the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs. Darlington's public square was bustling with fans, both local and from across the country.

The main event, the Cookout Southern 500, begins at 6 p.m. on Sunday. The Sober Slammer 200 runs at noon on Saturday.

The race weekend began with the hauler showcase, followed by a parade of haulers for all 36 NASCAR teams. Hundreds of people watched as the haulers came through town, stopping traffic for miles and bringing together fans of all generations.
