ROGERS, Ark. — As Labor Day weekend approaches, several beaches at Beaver Lake are closed due to elevated water levels. With more rain in the forecast, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is reminding holiday visitors to stay vigilant on the water.
Life jacket loaner stations are available across the parks and beaches. Jay Woods, public affairs specialist with the Corps’ Little Rock District, said higher water levels increase the risk of accidents — making life jackets essential.
“Something may happen, you could hit something, get thrown out — you need to make sure you have your life jacket on,” Woods said.
