FAIRFAX, Va. — Two crashes on major highways in the D.C. region are slowing the morning commute on Friday ahead a major holiday travel weekend. Here's what we know about the two crashes as of 8 a.m.

Just after 5 a.m. Maryland State Police troopers and first responders were called to the northbound lanes of I-95 in Prince George's County just before MD-200 Intercounty Connector for a report of a crash involving a pedestrian. The crash closed three left travel lanes due to the emergency response. Traffic is getting by using one right lane, but delays were building beginning before MD-212, according to traffic officials. All lanes have reopened to traffic by 8 a.m., but residual delays remain.
