A Texas metal band will deep Red Dirt roots readies to play Rocklahoma

Metalcore band Waves in April is proudly based in New Braunfels, Texas, but the emerging act's roots north of the Red River are deep and undeniable.

"Oklahoma has always been super welcoming because of my dad, and most of my dad's friends that he knows are from Oklahoma," said Dierks Canada , the lead guitarist and "lead screamer" of Waves in April as well as the older son of Cody Canada , the lead guitarist and singer of recently reunited Red Dirt band Cross Canadian Ragweed .
