Logan Moua knocked in a penalty kick late in the first half to start Hickory's tun to a 3-0 win over St. Stephens on the soccer field on Thursday.
Moua's kick broke a 0-0 tie and gave Hickory the win in the first annual Crosstown Cup game.
The crosstown was awarded to Hickory after the game and will be up for grabs next season when the two teams meet again. The teams are no longer in the same conference.
The cup was created by Hickory artist Chad Soden. It is a piece of Raku pottery designed to embody the spirit of the historic rivalry. He said Hickory head coach David Nieland approached him with the idea to make a piece of pottery that would serve as a trophy to keep the rivalry going.
