JAMESTOWN — Several months ago, there was a rumor circling Jamestown that Sara Hegerle would be retiring from coaching Jamestown High School volleyball.
That rumor was just a rumor.
Hegerle entered her 15th season with the Blue Jays on Aug. 18 and she couldn't be more excited about it.
"After the first few days of practice, we are all very optimistic and excited about the season," Hegerle said. "The players are working hard and have a great positive attitude towards each other. It’s been a lot of fun."
Jamestown is coming off a 10-12 regular season performance. The squad entered the 2024 West Region Tournament as the No. 7 seed. Coach Hegerle and the squad faced and fell 3-1 to second-seeded Bismarck High, then triumphed 3-1 over Minot North to earn a spot in the state qualifying match
