The Mother Road will turn 100 in 2026. Travelers from all over the world are expected to explore Route 66 in its centennial year.
Some Route 66 attractions are making tweaks in preparation for the milestone. Here’s a rundown of some of the primary stops — for photo ops and otherwise — on the Tulsa stretch of the Mother Road. Let’s include Catoosa since the Blue Whale, an iconic Route 66 landmark, ushers westbound travelers to the metro area.
