It was the end of an era in St. John’s yesterday as the old Mews Centre closed its doors for the final time – and the facility went out with an event fit for the dog days of summer.

The city hosted numerous free events at the old Mews to celebrate its history. One of those was a “pool paw-ty” in which people could bring their dogs in for a swim in the pool.

Photos and video posted to social media show several dogs, both big and small, gleefully jumping in to the water to the joy of those watching from the pool deck.
