The beginning of the school year also coincides with kickoff for high school sports aplenty. Texas is renowned for its Friday Night Lights while incredible athleticism is displayed on the volleyball hardwood, the tennis court and off the beaten path, cross country.

With early start times and literal miles to cover, the dedication that cross country athletes show is a cut above. For The Colony, senior Ryan Latendorf has been clawing away at the local competition and the Cougar pack as a whole has impressed.
