(NewsNation) — President Donald Trump has revoked former Vice President Kamala Harris' Secret Service detail after it was extended by former President Joe Biden, a White House official told NewsNation on Friday.

Harris received six months of Secret Service protection after leaving office, as mandated by federal law. That period ended on July 21. However, her detail had been extended for an additional year through a directive quietly signed by Biden shortly before leaving office, a Harris team member told NewsNation.

That extension was suspended by the Trump administration this week, according to a letter obtained by CNN.
