Pakistan Heritage Day was marked for the first time at Gracie Mansion, the official residence of the Mayor of New York City.
The ceremony was attended by New York Mayor Eric Adams, senior city and state officials, diplomats, political leaders, and a large number of Pakistani-American community members. Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, and Consul General of Pakistan in New York Aamer Ahmed Atozai represented Pakistan at the occasion. A moment of silence was observed for the victims of recent floods in Pakistan.
