Law Enforcement Agencies Unite to Honor a Family’s Memory and Combat Impaired Driving

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Pinellas County law enforcement agencies are launching a county-wide DUI “Wolf Pack” operation this weekend , dedicating their efforts to the memory of the McConnell family, who were tragically killed by an impaired driver 15 years ago.

On August 1, 2010, Rory, Roy III, Nathan, and Kelly McConnell were returning from a birthday celebration when their vehicle was struck by a driver who ran a red light at over 80 mph in St. Petersburg. The force of the collision was so severe it slammed their car into a concrete light pole, killing all four instantly.
