The First Alert Weather team has issued a First Alert Weather Day for the rain and storm threat this holiday weekend.
Outdoor plans may need to be adjusted around the incoming weather. While severe storms are not expected, periods of heavy rain and lightning are likely across North Texas on both Saturday and Sunday.
The first wave of rain moves in overnight, mostly as light showers. By Saturday morning, leftover storms from the west will move across much of the area before exiting in the afternoon. Severe weather is not expected.
