DECORAH, Iowa (KCRG) - An Eastern Iowa Catholic school cancelled classes Friday following a fire.

According to the Facebook page of St. Benedict School in Decorah, school is cancelled because of smoke in the building.

TV9 reached out to the Decorah Fire Department, who confirmed the fire took place at the school. Crews were called to the scene of the fire before 7:00 a.m. Friday.

The fire has since been put out.
