West Dunbartonshire is set to see an increase in grass cutting services after councillors agreed to reinstate investment and seasonal staffing. ‌

Plans to maintain the same level of grass cutting as was carried out in 2024 were given the green light at both the IRED and Housing committees recently. ‌

Those decisions, due to their financial implications, had to be confirmed at a West Dunbartonshire Council meeting, where it was decided on Wednesday that the work would go ahead. ‌

It means a one-off investment of £280,000 will fund extra cuts for the remainder of 2025/26, depending on the availability of Greenspace operatives. It will also allow for the retention of seasonal workers to manage areas with long grass during autumn and winter.
