East Porter County School Board member Natalie Bowersock filed a lawsuit against the district, its superintendent and the governing board, alleging they unlawfully barred her from school property and used the threat of criminal trespass to force her off the board.

According to a motion filed by Bowersock's attorney, the dispute began in July when Superintendent Aaron Case issued a cease and desist letter to Bowersock, citing a complaint from an unidentified employee. The complaint stemmed from an incident at a private gathering involving a bottle of wine containing the name of an individual tied to a separate suit she has pending against the district.
