SHREVEPORT, La. - As KTBS celebrates its 70 year anniversary, another anniversary also can't go unnoticed -- Hurricane Katrina.
KTBS was there 20 years ago before landfall, during the devastation and throughout the aftermath.
"A week before the Hurricane hit the Farvre's bought this house further down the canals, but because the storm was in the Gulf no insurance was being sold. A $298,000 purchase, it's destroyed," said former KTBS anchor/reporter Gerry May reporting from New Orleans.
"For many of them it's going to be several days before any of them can get home. A curfew is now in effect," said former KTBS anchor/reporter Ed Walsh reporting from Hammond.
