El Paso's No. 1-ranked high school football team couldn't have asked for a better start to the 2025 season.

The Class 6A Franklin Cougars played well from start to finish in a 41-8 win vs. Class 5A Chapin at Irvin High School in the debut of head coach Ruben Torres, who was hired in May to replace Daren Walker.
