A recall was issued after at least 95 people, got sick, including one in Florida, according to the Centers for Disease Control on Aug. 28. Eighteen had to be hospitalized.

The eggs were produced by Country Eggs LLC of California, which said "the potential for contamination was noted after being brought to our attention by the FDA and other authorities that our product may contain the presence of salmonella."

Production was stopped while the FDA and the company "investigate the source of the problem."
