Georgia football fans hoping to ring the Chapel Bell this weekend ( assuming the Bulldogs and their 38.5-point spread take care of Marshall ) are in for a disappointment.

The University announced Thursday that the bell is being repaired and will be unavailable for cheering Bulldog fans to line up and ring late into Saturday night.

In fact, the area will be closed off, making even photo opportunities a challenge.

Why is the Chapel Bell out of service?

The University of Georgia Thursday posted to its social media that the bell will be down, and gave no time for when it will return. Structural repairs is the issue, the post read. The area around the bell will also be fenced off.
