The seeds of something wonderful started taking root on Friday at Franklin Community High School.
Surrounded by a greenhouse brimming to leafy greens, rolls of hay dotting an open field and antique farm machinery, the school’s agriculture community came together for the start of a new era.
By the start of next school year, the Franklin ag department will have a brand new building to center learning and grow the next generation of farming leaders.
“I only get a year with this barn, but for me, it’s about the generations to follow. Agriculture is such a big industry, and this is going to shape the future of agriculture,” said Morgan Keith, secretary of Franklin’s FFA chapter.
Dozens of students, administrators, teachers and community members gathered on a perfect late summer morning Frid
