Indianapolis – Blair Thompson of Floyd Central High School has been named the Indianapolis Colts Flag Football Coach of the Week , the team announced today.

Thompson earned this recognition after being nominated by his fellow coaches and athletic directors from the Indiana High School GirlsFlag Football League . The Highlanders opened their inaugural season with two shutout wins at the Clarksville (Ind.) Invite, defeating New Albany 34-0 and Silver Creek 48-0.

The following coaches also were recognized as honorable mentions for Week 1:

Region 1: Zach Slosser – Munster

Region 2: Shawn Johnson – Lafayette Jefferson

Region 3: Hunter Clark – East Noble

Region 5: Donny Mimms – Lawrence North

Region 6: Ryan Williams – Beech Grove
