Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Rebecca Bradley is not seeking reelection, opening the door for other conservative judges to enter the spring 2026 race.
"I will not seek reelection to the Wisconsin Supreme Court because I believe the best path for me to rebuild the conservative movement and fight for liberty is not as a minority member of the Court," Bradley said in an Aug. 29 statement.
Liberal state Appeals Court Judge Chris Taylor has announced for the race and will have the support of Democrats.
Shortly after Bradley's announcement Aug. 29, state Appeals Court Judge Maria Lazar, said she is looking at taking on Taylor.
“You’re telling me something I didn’t know,” Lazar said Friday of Bradley’s decision not to seek re-election. “I’m going to seriously consider making a run.”
