A man seriously injured when the vehicle he was driving struck a large wooden utility pole on Aug. 22 in southwest Ocala while fleeing city police officers, made his first appearance in front of a judge.

Appearing by Zoom from the county jail, Brandon Antonio Lee Fillmore was supposed to attend first appearance on Aug. 28. It was postponed, however, because he told the court he was going to hire an attorney for the hearing.
