Community-based cooling locations and misting tents will remain open in Surrey and White Rock Friday (Aug. 29) as temperatures soar.
The Homelessness Services Association of B.C. issued an alert on Friday (Aug. 29) due to temperatures in the region being at or above 29˚C.
Temperatures in White Rock are expected to reach at least 28˚C on Friday, according to Environment Canada.
The following community-based locations in Surrey and White Rock will be active on Friday (Aug. 29).
Bill Reid Place: 17752 Colebrook Pl. from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It has a misting tent and water. Pet friendly.
Gateway Shelter: 10677 135A St., from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It has a misting tent and water.
