LOGAN — Tremonton-Garland Police Sgt. Lee Daniels Sorensen is being honored during a funeral Friday at the Spectrum in Logan.

Sorensen, 56, was a lifelong resident of Garland, a city where everyone knew him or at least knew someone who knew him. He recently graduated from Utah State University with a bachelor's degree in agriculture.

Sorensen and officer Eric Estrada were shot and killed on Aug. 17 while responding to a domestic violence call in Tremonton. Hundreds braved a downpour on Wednesday to attend a public viewing for both officers at Bear River High School. Police officers from across the state and country attended in uniform to support their fallen brothers. A funeral was held for Estrada Thursday.
