The provincial government is increasing income thresholds for programs which provide financial assistance to owners who wish to upgrade their homes.
The programs are administered by the Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation.
The minister responsible, Jamie Korab, says the household income for the Provincial Home Repair Program, which helps out with electrical and plumbing repairs, is going up by $10,000 to $42,500.
The same numbers apply to the Home Energy Savings Program, which helps with energy efficient retrofits.
The maximum income for the Home Modification Program, which applies to accessibility improvements such as ramps and showers, is now $51,500, a $5,000 increase.
Korab says the average age of those who availed of the programs last year was between 68 and 71.
