The Montana State football team has never played at Autzen Stadium, and it’s only competed in Eugene, Oregon, once. Quarterback Norm Van Brocklin led Oregon to a 27-14 win over MSU at historic track and field venue Hayward Field to open the 1947 season.

MSU starting QB Justin Lamson faced the Ducks two years ago, when he played at Stanford. He completed 11 of 20 passes for 106 yards and rushed for 32 yards on 22 carries in a 42-6 home loss.

MSU defensive coordinator Shawn Howe made a trip to Eugene in 2011, when he was a graduate assistant at USC. He’ll return to Autzen this weekend, when the Bobcats (ranked No. 2 in the FCS) begin their season against Oregon (ranked No. 7 in the FBS).
