Typically, the flu shot gives you about 6 months of protection or immunity against the flu. So we're looking to try to cover the peak season the best we can," said Morgan Payne, PA, at Novant Health Primary Care Lindley Park.
The CDC tracked flu activity over more than 40 years. The data shows the highest months are December, January, February, and March. But peak flu season is usually considered for the six months of October through March.
