SACRAMENTO, Calif. —

Plan for pleasant weather this Friday morning with a few clouds to start and light winds.

Plenty of sunshine is expected as temperatures rise into the mid to upper 90s this afternoon in the valley. Highs in the foothills will reach the low 90s, while the Sierra will see mid to upper 70s.

High pressure will build in from the east, bringing warmer weather for the long holiday weekend with highs near 100 degrees on both Saturday and Sunday. Sunday will be an Impact Day as triple-digit heat returns to the valley.

Labor Day Monday will be slightly cooler as a disturbance moves inland, with valley highs dipping into the upper 90s. However, temperatures will quickly rebound to the 100s on Tuesday and Wednesday, marking those days as Impact Days as well.
