MASON CITY, Iowa – A Cerro Gordo County man has been arrested for causing extensive damage to someone else’s home.
Nicholas Todd Rush, 33 of Mason City, has been charged with first-degree criminal mischief.
Law enforcement says at around 1 am on July 31, Rush entered a home belonging to someone else in the 1100 block of E State Street in Mason City. Investigators say once inside, Rush destroyed household goods, furniture, electronics, appliances, windows, doors, and drywall.
Court documents state the damage was estimated at $58,547.38.
Rush was arrested by the Clear Lake Police Department and booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail Thursday on $10,000 cash only bond.
