EAST LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A driver crashed outside of King Taco in East Los Angeles, knocking down the restaurant's iconic sign Friday morning.

The crash happened just before 10 a.m. on 3rd Street, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

AIR7 was over the scene where the restaurant's signature sign could be seen topped over with significant damage. A portion of the restaurant's awning also appeared to have some damage.

It's unclear if the car went into the restaurant.

In a statement, Metro said the car made a left turn in front of the E Line train just before the crash. All passengers were evacuated, but none of them were injured.

Metro officials added that the driver of the car was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.

No other injuries were reported.
