It was May 22, 2021 , at the USTA National Campus…Championship point in Orlando. Shelton is on the court. His dad, Bryan, is on the sidelines as the Gators head coach.
The return from the Baylor player went long, and the Gators were national champions.
The TV cameras panned to the younger Shelton , displaying the swagger that’s become trademark to tennis fans. Then to the elder Shelton , who was comforted by Perelman. Bryan is known for his trademark cool, but at that moment, the emotions took control of him.
The son won his dad a national championship, making Bryan the first coach in NCAA history with a men’s
