The Columbia Public Works Department has scheduled an informal open house meeting regarding a sidewalk project planned for Mills Drive.

The city announced in a news release that the meeting will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 8, at the Activity and Recreation Center, 1701 W. Ash St.

The purpose of the meeting is to present design concepts for the Mills Drive sidewalk project , which aims to improve pedestrian connections between shopping areas on Forum Boulevard and neighborhoods to the west, according to the release.

The project includes:

Construction of a sidewalk along the north side of Mills Drive between Forum Boulevard and Highridge Drive.

Construction or reconstruction of pedestrian curb ramps at intersections.
