BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The Altamont School recently kicked off the new academic year, marking 50 years in Birmingham.
This year, the school welcomed 361 students from 20 schools across the area.
“We are thrilled to welcome 61 new students into our school family, each bringing unique talents, perspectives, and energy to our community,” said Altamont Head of School Cecil Stodghill said in a statement. “Alongside them, we applaud the dedication of our returning students who continue to embody the values and spirit of Altamont. None of this would be possible without our outstanding faculty—both new and returning—whose passion for teaching and commitment to our mission guide everything we do.”
