A new era of Resurrection Christian football is set to begin Saturday under the leadership of head coach Doug Johnson.
After 25 years heading up the Longmont High School football program, Johnson was hired by RCS in March and is now entering his first season with the Cougars. So far, the transition has been smooth, largely due to the program’s returning assistant coaches and a dedicated group of seniors.
“They were ready to work,” Johnson said of Resurrection Christian’s senior class. “They were excited, and it’s been terrific getting to know them.”
Seniors who’ve stepped up include running back/safety Louis Owen, receiver/safety Jaxson Pszanka and offensive lineman/linebacker Ethan Carter. Those three, and several other key returners, helped RCS finish 5-4 (3-2 Class 2A North) last yea
