LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - In Thursday’s special FCPS Board meeting, we finally learned the total for the district’s contingency.

The district’s general fund contingency was initially projected to be $41,972,760.

In an August 10 email to board members obtained by WKYT’s Samantha Valentino , Superintendent Dr. Demetrus Liggins revealed a new projection for the district’s true contingency, or carry-forward balance: $15-22 million.

Since this change in projection was uncovered, district leaders have refused to publicly share an updated total for the contingency until now.
