Five students from the University of South Dakota joined Gov. Larry Rhoden, state legislators and South Dakota Trade on a journey to Ireland last week to promote international trade and South Dakota’s key exports of beef, ethanol and biotechnology products.

The students’ trip was funded by a scholarship awarded to students in USD’s Presidential Student Leadership Institute (PSLI) Business track established by alumni Tom and Dianne Johnson.

Chelsea Limoges, industry engagement coordinator for the USD Beacom School of Business, said the Johnsons’ support enabled the students to engage in meaningful, unique opportunities without financial barriers “while also investing in the future of South Dakota’s communities through student-led innovation and leadership.”
