For the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Hawks, there was a lot of back-and-forth for the football team in 2024.
Week 1, loss by 35 points to the West Sioux Falcons. Week 2, beat the Alta-Aurelia Warriors by 22. Get shut out in Week 3 by MMCRU. Beat Akron-Westfield by nine points in Week 4. Week 5 loss to Kingsley-Pierson by 28 points. Week 6 win over South O'Brien by 18 points. And then three straight losses to end their season in Class A football including a 65-27 drubbing by West Hancock in the first round of the Class A playoffs.
If the District 1 squad coached by Jeremiah Delzer wants to see a winning record this year, they'll need more consistency. That won't be an easy task though as a number of key players for the Hawks graduated in the past year. Leading passer and rusher Jack Mastberge
