ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. — The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office has withdrawn its request to charge a Slidell man with Vehicular Homicide in the death of a 6-year-old boy after obtaining new evidence in the ongoing hit-and-run investigation.
On August 13, Deputies were called to Northshore Lane just before 6 p.m. Investigators say the child had been riding a scooter in his driveway when he was struck. The child's mother drove him to a local hospital, where he later died.
Beaudette was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center and later released on bond.
STPSO states that since that time, investigators have obtained new evidence identifying a second vehicle as possibly involved in the incident.
