The BC Muslim Association is hosting an inter-faith community public safety forum to address gang violence in Surrey.
The Guns, Drugs and Gangs forum will be held Sunday (Aug. 31) at Surrey Jamea Masjid (12407 72 Ave.) following Zohar prayer from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
"This community-driven initiative unites faith communities to protect our youth and build a safer future," stated the BC Muslim Association in a post about the event.
The forum will feature keynote speaker Yusef-Andre Wiley, who is a former Blood Gang member from South Central Los Angeles. Imam Osama Raj and other community members, as well as elected officials, will also be present.
