A barman was hauled before a court after threatening to ' bury ' and 'destroy' his ex-girlfriend in a Snapchat rant after he announced he had got engaged to her young daughter.

Timothy Steels, 49, from Macclesfield, believed Jurairat Sherratt was 'antagonising' him by playing the Guns 'n' Roses tune 'Sweet Child O'Mine' on the jukebox while at the bar with fiancée Lyndsey Nelson, 22.

After the pub had closed, Steels put a post on his own Snapchat story saying: “When people slag you off but cannot say it to your face. And over a song. Get a grip you f***ing idiot.”

He then sent a series of direct messages to catering assistant Mrs Sherratt, 45, who herself had a new boyfriend, saying: “I will smash you both up. You s**g and w*****. I will deal with you now and bury you.
