VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A house fire in the Ocean Lakes neighborhood of Virginia Beach left five people displaced, according to the Virginia Beach Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to the 1800 block of Mullholand Drive, not far from General Booth Boulevard, around 12:51 p.m. The single-story house had smoke showing and fire through the roof.

Crews fought the fire from inside, and the blaze was under control by 1:20 p.m.

A dog was rescued from the home, and two adults and 3 children were displaced.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
