JOLIET - Residents in a Joliet neighborhood were told to shelter in place Friday afternoon as police and fire personnel responded to what officials described as an "active incident."

Joliet police said the order, which began around 1:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Ann Street, was lifted at 2:55 p.m.
Residents in the area had been urged to remain indoors, and those nearby were asked to avoid the neighborhood while police and fire crews responded. Police said only residents should be in the area.
