The 16-year-old is preparing for a new season after winning eight medals, including six golds, at the Canada Summer Games in St. John’s, N.L. Article content Article content
“I would call it my most successful meet so far and I’m hoping it’s a stepping stone for the future,” he said. “I’m very excited for what’s to come, if this is the first step in many steps.”
Schinkelshoek has raced before on a Swim Ontario team, most notably in Luxembourg in January, but the Canada Summer Games this month marked his Team Ontario debut at an inter-provincial event.
He has his sights set on wearing the Maple Leaf.
